Shouldn't I be able to develop my SEO and GEO strategy myself using AI?
AI can be used well operationally for SEO, but most AI systems lack current, reliable data connections (e. g. search volumes or competitor data) as well as their own experience from real projects.
If you use AI for your SEO strategy, you're essentially flying blind. This is exactly where we come in. We develop your strategy together with you and then give you the option to implement further SEO yourself, or we support you as a consultant or agency.
The risk with an AI-based SEO strategy is that many recommendations are essentially generic and AI can hallucinate. Furthermore, neither ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude nor any other AI has demand data or real statistics, and their output barely differs from that of competitors. This makes your content, your company and ultimately you interchangeable.
In short: AI can reproduce well, but has only limited ability to evaluate, prioritise or strategically differentiate. This becomes especially clear with GEO, for example with these questions: Which prompts are strategically relevant for your own company? Which content has a realistic chance of appearing in AI answers?
How do offers need to be developed further to remain competitive? These questions require more than pattern recognition. They require experience, market understanding, and the ability to properly assess relevance and competition.
Added to this is an often underestimated factor: implementation effort. Many companies underestimate in particular: ensuring consistent content quality; systematically building authority (E-E-A-T); targeted distribution of content. In conclusion: AI is a powerful tool for operational implementation.
Strategic development, prioritisation and assessment, however, remain a key success factor - and this is exactly where external consulting adds the most value.
