The difference lies mainly in the consulting approach and the target system. We don't see SEO in isolation, but as part of an overarching visibility strategy. This means: alongside classic search engines, we also consider AI search, user value, and the interplay with PR, social media and email marketing.
A second key difference is the separation of consulting and implementation. Our recommendations are independent, data-based and designed to enable companies to make well-founded decisions - not to sell as many operational services as possible. On top of this comes a strong focus on innovation: we continuously test new approaches in our own projects and on our own websites.
This allows us to soundly evaluate and proactively recommend even unconventional strategies before they become standard in the market. Classic SEO agencies often work in a more implementation-driven way, e. g.
in areas such as metadata optimisation, content production or link building. These measures can be effective but are often geared towards short- to medium-term effects. Another difference lies in the role logic: while agencies combine consulting and implementation, this often creates tension between recommendation and self-interest in implementation.
As independent consultants, we're decoupled from that. In short: we focus on strategic, data-based and cross-channel visibility, while classic agencies are often more firmly anchored in operational SEO implementation.
